A FEW FIRST OF THE SCHOOL YEAR FAQ’S:
Q: WHAT ARE THE SCHOOL HOURS?
THE OFFICE IS OPEN DAILY FROM 7:30 – 4:30. THE SCHOOL DAY STARTS AT 8:30 AND ENDS AT 3:30
Q: Where do I drop off my child in the mornings?
During the morning please drop off your student at the front doors. Please be courteous to other parents and drop off as quickly as you can to keep the flow of traffic going. Students should NEVER be dropped off in the parking lot and made to walk across the traffic loop nor should they be let out from the inside lane farthest from the curb and made to cross the traffic. This is unsafe. After 8:00 you may also use the back road and let your student out by the playground gate to avoid the morning rush.
Q: Where do I pick my child up in the afternoon?
Children that are picked up in the afternoon by their parents are considered car riders. Car riders are picked up in the back. You will use the road behind Dennis to get to the back. You will need a car rider number with the Dennis seal on it to pick up a student from this area. You may get them from Ms. Donna in the office. This way we will know that you are approved to pick that student up. No student will be released to a car without a car rider number.
Q: How early may I drop off my student in the morning? There are teachers on duty starting at 7:30. Students may not be dropped off before then.
Q: What number do I call if I need to get a message to my child about after school transportation?
We will clarify with you before school starts how your child will be going home. Should you need to make a change please contact the teacher or call the office to get a message to the teacher at 722-6510. We will not send them home a different way without speaking to an adult. Students can also not ride a different bus other than their own without prior approval from district transportation.

Q: How do I arrange a tour if I am considering moving into the Dennis area? Tours are scheduled through the Counselor, Mrs. Derryberry. You may contact her to request an appointment at CDerryberry@putnamcityschools.org.
Q: Who do I contact about free and reduced lunches?
A: Contact Aphroz in the Dennis cafeteria. All returning students were mailed an application and an additional application will be sent home with students during the first week.
Q: Who do I contact if I have a question about PTO or would like to volunteer?
